Doncaster Rovers manager is eagerly anticipating the collaboration with a pivotal figure in the team…

Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann is eagerly anticipating the return of winger Kyle Hurst, whom he considers a significant asset to the team.

Hurst made a considerable impact during his breakout season last year, scoring eight goals and establishing himself as a key player for Doncaster.

Unfortunately, a persistent thigh injury has limited his playing time to just 13 minutes this season. McCann expressed his excitement about Hurst’s return, having witnessed his effectiveness during pre-season.

However, it is important to note that Hurst is still weeks away from returning to action and is undergoing a series of injections to aid in his recovery.

McCann empathizes with Hurst’s frustration, noting that the young player had been injury-free throughout his career and was one of the leading goalscorers last season.

McCann stressed the importance of ensuring Hurst’s full recovery, as they approach the critical period of the season in December, January, and February.

Doncaster Rovers are scheduled to face Tranmere Rovers on Friday night, with the match moved forward by a day to avoid a scheduling conflict with the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

McCann faced significant challenges in the previous weekend’s match against Sutton United, with as many as 15 players unavailable. Unfortunately, only a few of them are expected to return in time for the upcoming match against Tranmere.
