“I’m disappointed…” – Luton Town manager slams his team amid their defeat against Tottenham…

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards expressed his regret over his team’s inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities, which ultimately led to their defeat against Tottenham.

Micky van de Ven emerged as the decisive factor, securing a 1-0 victory for Tottenham, with Yves Bissouma receiving a red card during the match.

Edwards acknowledged, “Tottenham began the game strongly, and we had to rely on some luck in the first ten minutes. However, we gradually found our footing in the match. We started to pose a threat, and defensively, we remained solid.”

“The turning point came just before halftime with the red card. We made a tactical adjustment, attempting to outnumber them in the midfield.

We had a significant opportunity to score, but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert it. A lapse in concentration during a corner led to us conceding the first goal. Even when facing ten players, Tottenham’s quality made it challenging for us to mount a comeback.”

“I’m proud of my players and their performance against a top-tier team today. I’m disappointed because I believe that if we had scored the first goal, we could have gone on to win the game.”

When asked if Luton regretted missed opportunities, he replied, “Yes, this has been a recurring issue for us recently – creating good chances but failing to convert them. Unfortunately, it cost us today.”

“In the dressing room, we have a strong sense of unity, and in the coming weeks, we will regroup and improve. We have a short break ahead, but we will use it as an opportunity to learn and become better.
