“Portsmouth Injuries and Suspensions’ – John Mousinho Provides Updates on Eight Players Ahead of Port Vale Match…

John Mousinho is facing some fresh challenges this week as he prepares for Port Vale’s upcoming visit to Fratton Park.

The news of Marlon Pack’s ankle ligament injury has dealt a significant blow to the team, along with the one-match suspensions of Regan Poole and Alex Robertson.

This unfortunate turn of events has forced Mousinho, the head coach of Pompey, to once again reconfigure his squad, even though they maintain their top spot in the League One table with a quarter of the season already completed. With several other players in the Blues squad dealing with injuries, Mousinho must dig deep to find solutions.

There is, however, some positive news with Kusini Yengi and Connor Ogilvie making progress. Here is the latest injury update from Mousinho in anticipation of the Port Vale game, along with his thoughts on the suspensions of Poole and Robertson:

  1. Pompey head coach John Mousinho provides the latest updates on Pompey’s injury list and shares his thoughts on the suspensions ahead of the Port Vale match.
  2. Marlon Pack – Ankle Ligaments: Mousinho stated, “Marlon underwent a scan on Tuesday after we didn’t see the expected improvements over the weekend. Unfortunately, the news isn’t promising for Marlon. We saw him wearing a boot at Fratton Park on Tuesday night, and he’s expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks due to ankle ligament damage. It’s a significant setback considering his recent form, but Marlon’s dedication to his gym and training work assures us he’ll return as soon as possible.”
  3. Connor Ogilvie – Groin: Mousinho mentioned, “Connor Ogilvie has been training on the field, participating in everything but full training. If all goes well on Friday, he should be available for selection over the weekend, which will be a welcomed boost.”
  4. Kusini Yengi – Ankle: Mousinho shared, “Kusini is back in full training and ready for selection this weekend. This is fantastic news for everyone, especially given his strong start to the season with four goals in just one start and a couple of substitute appearances. Seeing Kusini back on the pitch will lift spirits at Fratton Park and provide a much-needed boost.”
  5. Tom Lowery – Knee: Mousinho noted, “Tom Lowery is progressing well and back on the field, although he is still a few weeks away from full recovery. It’s encouraging to have him around the training sessions, even if he’s not actively participating.”
  6. Anthony Scully – Knee: Mousinho stated, “Anthony Scully has undergone successful surgery, and we expect him to return in six to eight weeks.”
  7. Josh Dockeril – ACL Injury: Mousinho commented, “Josh Dockerill is dealing with a long-term injury, but he continues to make positive strides in his recovery.”
  8. Regan Poole – One-Match Ban: Regarding Regan’s yellow card, Mousinho said, “I accept Regan’s yellow card against Wycombe; it seemed justified. However, I’m quite baffled by Alex’s booking, which I thought should have been a penalty in favor of Pompey. It’s a frustrating yellow card as it’s quite ridiculous. Alex has received a few petulant ones, which I understand, but he needs to avoid them because now he’s suspended for Saturday.
