Derby County Manager makes ‘sanguine’ claims amid Cheltenham Town clash…

Derby County Manager Paul Warne is confident that he possesses the most formidable bench of players in his managerial career, emphasizing the example of Josh Vickers to support his claim.

As they strive for promotion to the Championship, Derby County is scheduled to face Cheltenham Town in an away League One match this Saturday.

However, ahead of the game, Warne faces some concerns due to several players being sidelined with injuries. Tyreece John-Jules, Elliot Embleton, Joe Ward, Liam Thompson, Callum Elder, and Jake Rooney are all unavailable due to injuries.

Nevertheless, Warne remains adamant that he has a sufficient pool of players at his disposal who can make a significant impact. He also reiterated that the depth of the squad is unparalleled in his experience.

Speaking to Rams TV, Warne stated, “I’ve mentioned the strength of our bench a few times, but I haven’t even mentioned Josh Vickers, who I believe would be the first-choice goalkeeper in this league, and he’s competing with Joe Wildsmith.

It’s without a doubt the most formidable bench I’ve ever had. While it presents its own set of challenges, I would prefer to have the problem of ‘who can I select?’ rather than ‘who should I select?'”

Derby County is currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak and aims to continue their success against Cheltenham.
