Tottenham is reportedly open to accepting offers for 29 years old in the upcoming January transfer window…

Dier, who is currently 29 years old and in the final year of his contract with the club (expiring in 2023-24), seems to have no place in the plans of Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou.

Despite briefly making it to the bench for recent matches against Arsenal and Sheffield United, he was completely omitted from the squad when Tottenham defeated Liverpool 2-1 on September 30th.

Although Dier had received offers during the summer transfer window, he opted to stay at Tottenham. However, there are now rumors linking him with a possible move to Serie A club Roma, where he could reunite with his former Spurs boss, Jose Mourinho, in the January transfer window.

Recent reports suggest that Dier is seriously considering this move, even though his original plan was to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer in 2024.

Interestingly, Dier has not played a single minute for Tottenham in the current 2023-24 season, despite being a regular presence in the heart of the defense during the tenures of previous coaches, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. The current defensive partnership of Cristian Romero and summer signing Micky van de Ven has been solid for Postecoglou’s team.

However, it has been reported that Postecoglou is keen on adding another center-back to the Tottenham squad in the January transfer window.

Tottenham is performing well in the Premier League this season, boasting an unbeaten record with 17 points from 21 possible. Their next match is against Luton on October 7th.

In unrelated news, Tottenham has successfully fended off an attempt by Newcastle United to hijack a new signing.
