Matheus Nunes Received Shocking Reception as Wolves Defeat Manchester City 2-1…

During the recent Wolves vs. Manchester City match, Matheus Nunes received a rather unpleasant welcome from Wolves fans at Molineux.

The Portugal international had faced criticism from Wolves supporters earlier in the year when he declined to attend training, expressing his desire to join Manchester City, which eventually happened with a £53 million transfer deal.

Upon his return to Molineux as a Manchester City player, Wolves fans didn’t hold back in expressing their disapproval of his past actions.

The chants directed at Nunes were quite offensive, as described by BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone, who was covering the game.

In response to the negative chants, Manchester City fans countered with a more positive chant in support of Nunes, demonstrating their loyalty to the Portuguese player.

However, Nunes’ performance in the match did little to sway opinions in his favor. With Manchester City trailing 1-0 at halftime, he was substituted for Oscar Bobb by Pep Guardiola due to a lackluster first half. This move led to Wolves fans taunting him as a “waste of money.”

Nunes’ performance statistics were underwhelming, with no shots, key passes, or successful dribbles. Defensively, he made no tackles, interceptions, or blocks before being substituted.

Manchester City fans will hope for improved performances from their deadline day signing in the future.
